Tavern Owner Murders His Customer Over Unpaid Liquor Debt in

[TAVERN OWNER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF PATRON OVER UNPAID LIQUOR DEBT]

The Acting OR Tambo District Commissioner, Brigadier Vukile Ntuli, has expressed shock over the murder of a 34-year-old male victim from Milani locality. The incident allegedly took place on, 25/05, involving a 30-year-old tavern owner from Lower Ngxaxha locality, Maqhubini A/A.

It is alleged that the tavern owner fetched the victim from his homestead and assaulted him inside his tavern, including knocking him against a wall, over an undisclosed amount of unpaid liquor debt. Police were summoned to the crime scene after the victim lost consciousness.

He was later declared dead. The 30-year-old tavern owner was arrested and charged with murder. He is due to appear before the Qumbu Magistrate’s Court today, 26/05.
