The African National Congress (ANC) has expressed deep concern regarding the conduct of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, citing a significant decline in parliamentary decorum. The ruling party has accused Malema of consistently undermining the dignity of the National Assembly through his inflammatory rhetoric and disruptive behavior.

In a statement released following the latest parliamentary session, the ANC leadership condemned what they described as a pattern of disrespect towards the Speaker and fellow members of Parliament. The party emphasized that while robust debate is a cornerstone of democracy, it must be conducted within the established rules and traditions of the house.

The behavior exhibited by the EFF leader is not only a violation of parliamentary rules but also an affront to the citizens of South Africa who expect their representatives to engage in constructive discourse,

stated an ANC spokesperson. The party further called for stricter enforcement of parliamentary standing orders to ensure that the legislative process is not derailed by personal attacks and unparliamentary language.

The EFF has yet to issue a formal response to these latest criticisms, though the party has historically maintained that their confrontational approach is a necessary tactic to hold the government accountable and highlight the grievances of the marginalized.
