The African National Congress (ANC) Parliamentary Caucus has issued a strong condemnation regarding the conduct of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema during recent parliamentary proceedings. The caucus expressed deep concern over what it described as disruptive behavior and a lack of adherence to established parliamentary decorum.

According to the ANC, the incident occurred during a session of the Section 89 Impeachment Committee, where Mr. Malema engaged in a verbal confrontation with ANC Member of Parliament, Cde Cameron Dugmore. The conflict reportedly began after Cde Dugmore requested that Mr. Malema comply with the rules of the house and address fellow members in a manner consistent with parliamentary standards.

Such inflammatory and personal insults were entirely unwarranted and fell far short of the standards of conduct and parliamentary decorum expected of Members of Parliament.

The ANC Parliamentary Caucus stated that the verbal attacks launched by Mr. Malema were unprovoked and undermined the integrity of the committee’s work. They emphasized that all members, regardless of political affiliation, are expected to uphold the dignity of the institution and engage in respectful discourse.

This latest criticism adds to a long history of tensions between the ANC and its former youth league leader, who has frequently been at the center of controversies regarding his conduct both inside and outside of the legislative assembly.
