MP Fadiel Adams says he fears for his life after opening an intimidation complaint against the South African Police Service following a 4am raid at a Westridge, Cape Town, home where he no longer resides.

Around 15 police officers wearing masks apparently arrived at the property searching for him, despite him having moved out some time ago.

The home is now occupied by a teacher and her family, who were reportedly left traumatised by the incident.

Adams alleged that the woman’s 12-year-old son was assaulted during the operation.

Adams claimed the raid was not a legitimate police operation, but an attempt to intimidate or possibly kidnap him.

He believes he is being targeted because he is a witness in cases involving suspended Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, KwaZulu-Natal Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo.

Adams said he has submitted an affidavit detailing the incident and now lives in fear for his safety and that of his family.
