The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) has confirmed that it has removed its former Secretary–General, Sibonelo Nomvalo as a Member of Parliament (MP) with immediate effect.

The party fired him on Thursday night from the position of Secretary-General saying this follows concerns regarding the councillor selection process, the creation of high-level deployment committee without the knowledge of President Jacob Zuma, national officials and the Presidency collective.

It also highlighted delays in campaign materials, Parliamentary whippery changes that were not communicated to the party leadership, internal factionalism and concerns of dual remuneration in the National Assembly and the party.
