KwaZulu-Natal organised crime unit technical detective, Sgt Rajen Sanders, has identified accused number five, Lindokuhle Ndimande, as the man who monitored rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his crew at Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on the day he was murdered in 2023.

Sanders told the Durban high court on Friday that he watched video footage multiple times after downloading it and concluded that the man seen wearing shorts and a white T-shirt is accused number five.

Ndimande, 26, as well as Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, 30, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, 35, Mziwathemba Gwabeni, 36, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, 23, Malusi Dave, 30, and Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande, 31, pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.

Ndimande is seen in the footage moving in and out of Wish while talking on his phone.

He is also seen entering AuthentiQ bar and restaurant, where AKA’s friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane was seated with friends.

Ndimande was seated alone at a table just opposite AKA and his crew, and was constantly on his phone.

At the time of the shooting, Ndimande was still inside the restaurant.

Shortly after the shots were fired, he stood up while still on the phone, settled his bill by swiping his card, and left the restaurant.

In his bail application, Ndimande admitted that he was at Wish on the day AKA was killed, but said he had gone there for a date with his girlfriend, who never showed up.

The matter was adjourned until Monday. Sanders will continue giving evidence relating to the video footage.
