ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated his commitment to job creation, promising employment opportunities for South Africans across all age groups as the country battles persistent economic challenges. The pledge comes as the government seeks to address the high unemployment rate that continues to affect millions of citizens.

The third phase of the partnership sets a clear target of lifting South Africa’s GDP growth above 3% a year and contributing toward the creation of one million new jobs by 2030.

Despite the ambitious targets set by the President, many citizens remain skeptical, pointing to previous unfulfilled promises and the ongoing struggle with weak economic growth. Critics argue that without concrete funding and structural reforms, these pledges may fail to materialize into tangible results for the unemployed.

The government maintains that its focus remains on translating economic reforms into higher growth, though the public continues to demand greater accountability and immediate action to alleviate the cost-of-living crisis.
