Three suspects in the Reiger Park mass shooting to apply for bail
The three men accused of killing two police officers in a shooting incident in Reiger Park are expected to apply for bail in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court , east of Johannesburg, on Tuesday.
Regan Collis, his co-accused Jamal Meyer and Elvino Crafford are facing charges including murder as well as possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
All three accused will appear together in the dock for the first time since their arrests.
The state alleges that Meyer and his co-accused acted in common purpose.
It says they were both involved in the murder of the anti-gang unit members and the two civilian women.
During Meyer’s first appearance last week, his defence counsel told the court that police assaulted him in an attempt to force him to confess.
