Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, has told the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court that there was insufficient evidence for his ballistic expert to analyse an alleged shooting incident in Ladanna, Polokwane, in October last year.

Chauke is being cross-examined by State prosecutor Advocate Kgaugelo Lekoloane on the findings of ballistic expert Jan de Klerk, who testified on Tuesday after reviewing witness statements and photographs.

Chauke told the court that although De Klerk was appointed by his defence team, the expert was called to help clarify the alleged shooting incident, which forms part of the charges against him.

“You are saying what was expected was that there would be a report in relation to the gunshot wound only, but what Mr Christo de Klerk said was that there was some missing information or evidence for him to analyse further.”
