‘Government must be your sugar daddy’: Malema says social grants should be increased

EFF leader Julius Malema has called for a significant increase in social grants, arguing that the government should step in to provide financial support to vulnerable citizens, particularly young women.

The government must be the sugar daddy for these young women. No man should be a sugar daddy.

Malema stated that the current social grant amounts are insufficient and that the government has a responsibility to look after children and those in need. He suggested that by reducing government spending, such as cutting down on the number of deputy ministers, the state could find the necessary funds to increase grants and provide additional support like free water and electricity to beneficiaries.
