TS Galaxy are said to be deep in negotiations with the man touted to be their next head coach, with an announcement imminent after Bernard Parker vacated the seat earlier this week.

The Rockets entered the market for a fresh technical leader following a challenging start to the season that has seen them win one, draw three and lose four of their opening eight Betway Premiership fixtures — a run that ultimately cost Parker his job.

Following Parker’s exit, the search for a permanent successor has moved swiftly, with Esau Mtsweni having held the fort against Orlando Pirates as they lost 3-0 at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday.

However, he has explicitly distanced himself from taking the job permanently, reiterating his intention to return to the youth ranks full-time as soon as the incoming manager arrives.

As such, Galaxy management chose to realign its technical leadership blueprint. Chairman Tim Sukazi has publicly spoken about favouring managers holding the prestigious UEFA Pro Licence — a credential that the club views as foundational to its tactical identity and historical successes.

Adzen set to take over

Admir Adzen, a 53-year-old tactician from Bosnia-Herzegovina, is set to take over, with negotiations said to have progressed rapidly. Indications are that personal terms and contractual frameworks have already been agreed upon, meaning an official unveiling at the Mbombela Stadium is expected in the coming days.

The incoming mentor will face the immediate task of stabilising the squad and turning the team’s fortunes around — with the Rockets desperate to climb up the Betway Premiership standings and put their difficult start to the campaign behind them.
