‘We must not doubt’- Da Cruz’s message to Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz says the players must not start to doubt themselves after dropping points against Polokwane City.
Chiefs, who came on a high missed the opportunity to leapfrog rivals Orlando Pirates to second spot on the table, having taken the lead at halftime through a delightful finish from Lebohang Maboe.
However, Rise and Shine who have been a torn for the Amakhosi in recent times struck back later on in the contest with a direct finish from a corner-kick by Giovanni Philander and registered their third successive draw.
“We created chances, we didn’t make the break and when you didn’t make the break you give opportunities to the opponent to come back and for the moment it’s few weeks when we make a mistake every time, we concede a goal so we need to continue to work,” Da Cruz told SuperSport TV after the game.
The defensive mistakes have been prominent in the last three encounters and started out at Richards Bay FC to Siwelele FC and now the Rise and Shine and the opponents pride on it and score at every turn.
“It’s very easy to analyse, (but) before we didn’t make mistakes and we then give chance for the opponents to score but now since Richards Bay then Siwelele and today Polokwane the opponent doesn’t create chance but we make big mistakes and we let them score goals.”
The Amakhosi calls on the masses not to cast a shadow of doubt and to continue believing in themselves on the journey taken thus far which has brought a lot of good things.
“We must not doubt because we make good things but we’re not enough killers in the two boxes, our and the box of the opponent also. But also, we make good things so we must continue believing in ourselves because we’re on the good way,” Da Cruz said.
