Watch As KZN Carjacker Is Shot & K!lled By A bystander

A bystander shot & killed  suspects while he tried running away  from an attempted hijacking in Cottonlands – KZN this afternoon (Wednesday, 20/05/2026).

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 16:34 after reports were received of a shooting in the vicinity of Mhlasini – KZN.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival found that a male believed to be approximately 50 years old had sustained two (2) gunshot wounds to his leg. Witnesses informed Officers that the occupants of a red VW Polo Vivo drove recklessly through the area before randomly opening fire and fleeing the scene. Two (2) 9mm cartridges were recovered on scene.

Reaction Officers believed the gunmen were escaping after an attempted hijacking that occurred earlier in Cottonlands – KZN involving a white VW Polo.

Another  injured bystander was transported privately to hospital by members of the public
