A chaotic exchange of gunfire between rival criminal groups in Durban allegedly ended with one suspected gang member being fatally shot by one of his own associates in what the cctv video is believed may have been a case of mistaken identity.
The confrontation occurred in an industrial area late in the evening when two rival gangs allegedly opened fire on one another. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before several vehicles sped away from the scene.
Its still unclear if this was a straight kill , that was supposed to happen even before the gunfire
According to reports, preliminary information suggested that one alleged hitman collapsed during the exchange after apparently being struck by gunfire from a member of his own group amid the confusion. The remaining suspects fled before police arrived.
Residents in the area described moments of panic as they sought shelter after hearing the gunfire. Authorities urged anyone with information or surveillance footage to assist investigators and reminded the public not to approach armed suspects.
