Zimbabwean-born British national Ndodana Tshuma is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for extradition proceedings.

South African authorities have received an extradition request and arrest warrant from the United Kingdom, where Tshuma is wanted in connection with the alleged murders of his wife and two daughters.

Meanwhile, his plea and sentence proceedings were yesterday postponed to 21 October after the court heard that negotiations between Tshuma and the State have not yet been finalised. Tshuma pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as entering South Africa illegally.

Magistrate Sindisiwe Malindi ordered that Tshuma remain in custody until his next appearance. “It is now adjourned again until the 21 October 2026 whereby you will be brought before this court. If everything is in order and the agreement has been finally reached, we will proceed with your plea. So between now and 21 October, you’ll be kept in custody. You’ll be brought at half past eight in the morning. The reason being you abandoned your right to apply and be released so you’ll be kept in custody brought before this court 21 October 2026.”
