Bafana Bafana midfielder Kobamelo Kodisang’s future with Mamelodi Sundowns has come to an end after the two parties mutually agreed to go their separate ways, KickOff.com can reveal.

This website understands that the 27-year-old has reached an agreement with the African champions to terminate his contract, bringing his time at Chloorkop to an end.

The latest development comes after this publication reported in July that Kodisang’s future at Sundowns was uncertain, with the winger not part of Miguel Cardoso’s plans for the 2026/27 season.

At the time, this website revealed that discussions were taking place between the player’s representatives and the club over the best way forward, with a permanent departure understood to be one of the possibilities on the table.

The former Platinum Stars FC winger joined the Brazilians from Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Moreirense in July 2024 on a five-year contract, but struggled to establish himself as a regular at the club.

The attacker subsequently spent time on loan at Portuguese outfit AVS Futebol before returning to South Africa and joining Stellenbosch FC in January 2026.

His spell in the Cape Winelands came to an end at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, with Stellenbosch opting not to retain him.

With his Sundowns chapter now also over, Kodisang is focused on finding a club where he can play regularly and revive his career.

The talented attacker is now assessing his options as he looks to secure the next chapter of his career, with his camp already exploring opportunities both locally and abroad.

Sources close to the player have indicated that he is open to different possibilities, with Premier Soccer League clubs already showing interest.

It remains to be seen whether Kodisang will continue his career in South Africa or opt for a fresh opportunity abroad once again.
