Suliman Carrim awaits bail fate
PRETORIA – Suliman Carrim is back in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he will learn whether he will be granted bail.
The controversial North West businessman has been behind bars since his arrest at OR Tambo International Airport two weeks ago.
He is accused of failing to appear before the Madlanga Commission, despite being subpoenaed to testify.
The state argues that his planned overseas trip suggests he could flee the country. But Carrim maintains that he intended to return.
The magistrate has been reviewing court transcripts after the state accused the former ANC treasurer of changing his version of events under cross-examination.
