Robbery Suspect Apprehended By Reaction Officers: Verulam CBD – KZN
A suspect was apprehended by Reaction Officers following a robbery today (Wednesday, 06/05/2026).
An elderly male arrived at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters requesting assistance after he was allegedly robbed on Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN.
The victim informed Officers that he was walking in the area when two (2) suspects approached him from the rear, grabbed him and stole his wallet before fleeing on foot.
The stolen wallet contained approximately R2300 in cash together with several bank cards.
Reaction Officers conducted a patrol through the Central Business District (CBD) with the victim in an attempt to locate the perpetrators.
During the search, one (1) of the suspects was pointed out near the Ndwedwe Taxi Rank. Reaction Officers converged on the located and apprehended the suspect.
The robber was detained at SAPS Verulam in KZN.
