Ramaphosa: Abuse, rape and killing of women not our heritage
President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that the abuse, rape, and killing of women in South Africa is not part of the country’s heritage. Speaking during national commemorations, the President emphasized that such acts of violence are a direct contradiction to the values of a free and democratic society.
The abuse, rape and killing of women is not our heritage. It is a stain on our national conscience.
Ramaphosa called for a collective societal effort to combat gender-based violence, urging men to take responsibility and actively challenge the culture of violence. He reiterated that the government remains committed to strengthening the justice system to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable and that victims receive the support they need.
