Ramaphosa: Abuse, rape and killing of women not our heritage
President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that the abuse, rape, and killing of women in South Africa is not part of the country’s heritage. Speaking during a national address, the President emphasized that such acts of violence are a direct contradiction to the values of freedom and equality that the nation fought to achieve.
The abuse, the rape and the killing of women is not our heritage. It is not who we are. It is not what we stand for.
Ramaphosa called for a collective societal effort to dismantle the culture of violence against women, urging men to take responsibility and actively participate in ending gender-based violence. He highlighted that the safety and dignity of women are fundamental to the progress of the nation.
