Orlando Pirates fan Ndlelenhle Nkosi has made a bold call ahead of the Buccaneers’ MTN8 final, backing Sebastian Pedersen to start ahead of first-choice striker, Yanela Mbuthuma.

Nkosi believes Pedersen deserves an opportunity to lead the Pirates attack after making his case for more involvement. The fan also reflected on his favourite Orlando Pirates MTN8 “Wafa Wafa” moment and shared his thoughts on the team’s impressive run in the competition.

Pirates booked their place in the final in emphatic fashion on Saturday, 29 August 2026, defeating Sekhukhune United 3-0 in the second leg of their semi-final. The result completed a commanding 4-0 aggregate victory and secured the Buccaneers’ place in a fifth consecutive MTN8 final.

With another final now on the horizon, the focus turns to team selection and who will lead the line. While Mbuthuma remains the established option, Nkosi’s backing of Pedersen adds an interesting dimension to the selection debate.

The Buccaneers will now look to carry their momentum into the final as they chase another MTN8 triumph and continue their impressive record in the competition.
