Kenny Kunene claims Julius Malema had close ties with notorious taxi boss Mswazi and KT Molefe

Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene has doubled down on his explosive allegations regarding the relationship between EFF leader Julius Malema and the late taxi boss Jotham ‘King Mswazi’ Msibi, as well as businessman Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe.

Kunene, who has been embroiled in a high-profile legal battle with Malema, claims that the EFF leader maintained a close and ongoing relationship with the figures, who have been linked to various criminal investigations and the ongoing Madlanga Commission.

Kunene relies on the allegation as evidence of what he describes as a close and ongoing relationship between Malema and Msibi.

The allegations, which were initially raised during a podcast interview, suggest that Malema frequently visited the late taxi boss, with claims of midnight meetings involving cash and whisky. These assertions have sparked significant public debate and social media backlash, with critics questioning the integrity of the EFF leader.

The Madlanga Commission has recently heard evidence regarding the activities of the ‘Big Five’ cartel, of which Msibi was allegedly a leader. Evidence extracted from Msibi’s phone has implicated several individuals, including security businessman Steve Motsumi and Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe, in illicit activities, including the attempted procurement of interception technology.

Malema has consistently denied these claims, labeling them as defamatory and launching a R1-million lawsuit against Kunene. However, the legal proceedings faced a significant setback when the Johannesburg High Court struck the matter from the roll due to administrative failures by Malema’s legal team to file necessary documents on time.
