Stellenbosch FC forward Ashley du Preez is on the verge of entering an exclusive list that includes Deano Van Rooyen, Iqraam Rayners and Thabo Moloisane.
The speedy attacker is set to join the club’s history books as he prepares to make his landmark 100th appearance for the Maroons.
The Idas Valley-born star permanently rejoined Stellies on 4 August 2026 following a high-profile four-season spell with Kaizer Chiefs.
In hitting the century mark, Du Preez will join an illustrious and exclusive group of players who have reached 100 appearances for the Winelands outfit, a list that includes the likes of Deano van Rooyen, Rafiq de Goede, Jarrod Moroole, and Iqraam Rayners.
Du Preez returns to home soil after experiencing mixed fortunes at Naturena, where he donned the colours of Amakhosi in 96 matches across all competitions.
During his tenure with the Soweto giants, the 29-year-old managed to find the back of the net on 19 occasions while registering six assists, notably helping the Glamour Boys secure the 2025 Nedbank Cup title despite facing periodic scrutiny over his finishing form.
His return to Stellenbosch sees him looking to replicate the blistering form of his first spell with the club, where he initially racked up 98 appearances, netting 15 goals and providing eight assists before his initial departure in 2022.
The explosive attacker has wasted no time finding his feet back in familiar surroundings. Du Preez scored in his very first appearance on his return to Stellies.
He is expected to be central to Gavin Hunt’s plans for their upcoming Betway Premiership fixture against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

The eagerly anticipated clash is scheduled to take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
Armed with the iconic number 10 jersey, Du Preez will be aiming to mark his milestone match with a decisive performance as Stellies seek to carry their positive momentum forward in the league campaign.
