Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz did not want to place the blame on goalkeeper Brandon Petersen after their 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in the MTN8.

After a three-year absence, Chiefs returned to the MTN8 but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Arrows in the first round on Sunday night at FNB Stadium.

Petersen was at fault the Arrows goal when was caught out by Khulekani Shezi’s cross-cum-shot in the second half.

“The mindset, the comfort of the player, nothing to say because we missed a lot of chances today,” Da Cruz told SuperSport after the game.

“The score is unfortunately is the only one goal changes in the half and after that we tried to come back, but we had a lack of efficiency there.”

When asked about Petersen’s error, he added, “I will look at the goal because I will watch the game, but I think the player missed his cross and we lose it all the team lose.

Chiefs will have to put the loss behind them as they will resume Betway Premiership action on against Sekhukhune United on Wednesday night.
