Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema’s R1 million defamation case against Patriotic Alliance (PA) Deputy President Kenny Kunene has been struck off the roll by the High Court in Johannesburg.

The ruling was made after Malema’s legal representative failed to comply with the directive of the Acting Deputy Judge President to submit some of their papers onto the online management system on time.

Kunene was sued by Malema over allegations he made on a podcast show. He claimed that Malema had received money from the late taxi boss, Mandla Msibi.

However, Malema’s legal representative plans to re-enroll the matter after fixing the procedural issue.

This was the interaction between Judge Leonard Twala and Malema’s legal representative, Advocate Mfesane ka Siboto.

Judge Twala: Was it uploaded on the 29th of April? When was it uploaded?

Advocate Mfesane ka Siboto: It was uploaded this morning at 08:40.
