Breaking News: A Male & Female Police Officer Confirmed Dead After they
A male police officer and a woman have been killed after he crashed a state vehicle in Ixopo late last night.
He died at the scene while she passed away in hospital this morning.
The constable – who had been travelling with two other junior officers, the deceased woman, another woman and a 1-year-old baby – struck the rear of a private bakkie, driven by another police officer.
That vehicle – an Isuzu – had three other occupants, including a 1-year-old baby.
All were injured but survived.
The deceased officer was attached to Port Shepstone SAPS POP, but was allegedly driving a Kokstad SAPS Stock Theft Unit vehicle.
One of the constables in the Toyota Hilux works at that unit.
Two cases of culpable homicide are being investigated by Sawoti SAPS.
