Another SA Coach Set For Tanzania Move?

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Mandla Zwane could become the latest South African coach to take his expertise to Tanzania, with Siya sources indicating that second-tier side Mbuni FC are showing interest in the experienced tactician.
Zwane, who recently returned from Botswana following a successful spell with Philikwe United FC, is understood to be attracting interest from the Tanzanian club as they look at strengthening their technical team.
While no deal has been concluded at this stage, sources close to the situation have indicated that Mbuni are keen on the former FC Porto midfielder and could explore the possibility of bringing him to Tanzania.
“The club is interested in him and there have been discussions about the possibility of him going there. Nothing has been finalised at this stage, but Mandla is one of the coaches they are looking at. Tanzania is becoming an attractive destination for South African coaches, and this could be another opportunity for him to continue his coaching journey outside the country,” a source close to the situation told the Siya crew.
The possible move comes at a time when Tanzanian football is increasingly attracting South African coaching expertise.
Steve Barker is currently in charge of Tanzanian giants Simba SC, while former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Manqoba Mngqithi was recently appointed as the head coach of reigning champions Young Africans.
Should Zwane’s potential move materialise, he would become another Mzansi coach to take up an opportunity in the East African country.
The 53-year-old is no stranger to working outside Mzansi, having recently coached in Botswana with Philikwe United, while he has also gained experience in India.
Zwane previously worked with Indian Super League outfit Jamshedpur FC, where he served as an assistant coach with the senior team.

The CAF A Licence holder has also coached AJ United, the UJ Football Team and SAFA Gauteng Under-21, building up experience across different levels of the game.
After his spell in Botswana, Zwane had indicated his desire to take up a new coaching challenge, believing he is ready for an opportunity at a higher level.
