Pirates Get Encouraging Moremi News As Another Return Nears

Orlando Pirates appear to have avoided a lengthy injury setback with Tshepang Moremi, with sources indicating that the speedy winger is not expected to spend an extended period on the sidelines.
Moremi was forced to undergo a late fitness assessment ahead of Pirates’ clash against Chippa United after picking up a knock during the 1-1 draw against AmaZulu at Kings Park Stadium.

He was ultimately unavailable as the Buccaneers went on to secure a convincing 3-0 victory over the Chilli Boys.
However, indications are that the Bafana Bafana international’s absence should be short-lived, with sources suggesting that he is expected to return soon and compete for selection in the upcoming matches.
That would come as welcome news for Abdeslam Ouaddou, particularly with Pirates having already lost Sihle Nduli to a more serious injury.
Nduli sustained a significant ankle injury during the match against AmaZulu after a heavy challenge forced him off.
Following further assessment by the club’s medical team, Pirates confirmed that the midfielder suffered a Grade 3 ligament tear and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four months.

The injury is a particularly unfortunate setback for Nduli, who had only recently returned to action following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a previous injury.
His latest setback is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the year, as confirmed by the club.
Sources have also indicated that Kabelo Dlamini is another player who could return to contention soon, providing Ouaddou with another option as the Buccaneers navigate a busy opening period of the campaign.
The picture is less encouraging for some of Pirates’ other injured players, however. Evidence Makgopa and Thalente Mbatha are among those nursing longer-term injuries and are not expected to provide an immediate solution for the coach.

For now, the encouraging news around Moremi and Dlamini offers Pirates some relief after Nduli’s serious setback.
Moremi, in particular, is expected to be back in the mix soon as the Buccaneers look to build on their impressive win over Chippa.
