SOME PEOPLE ARE CELEBRATING HIS ARREST. BUT WILL HE REALLY FALL AS THEY WISH?
A Tshwane Metro Police Service (TMPS) officer originally from Giyani has been arrested, with the development drawing attention in the local community because of his profile as a Xigaza music events organiser and businessman.
The officer is currently in custody while investigations into the allegations against him continue. Authorities have confirmed that an internal investigation and disciplinary processes are underway.
Details of the allegations against the officer have not yet been publicly disclosed. The matter is reportedly being investigated separately from the major drug-trafficking case involving a 56-year-old Nigerian national arrested in Kempton Park.
The officer’s arrest has attracted interest in Giyani because of his involvement in the local entertainment industry, where he is known as a Xigaza music events organiser, as well as his business interests.
The case has reportedly been referred to the provincial anti-corruption unit for further investigation. Authorities have not indicated at this stage whether the allegations are linked to his business or entertainment activities.
The arrest comes amid a wider law-enforcement crackdown involving several suspects linked to serious criminal investigations across South Africa. He is expected to appear in court on Monday, 17 August 2026.
