‘We continue on this way’ – Turning point for Da Cruz & Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz is hoping the 3-0 win over TS Galaxy can kick-start their campaign after the recent slump.

After their CAF Confederation Cup elimination, the Amakhosi bounced back to halt a five-match winless run in all competitions and at the same time seal a spot in the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout.

Wandile Duba got the job done following a second-half hat-trick, with the coach believing that the win bodes well for the Amakhosi.

“The difference is efficiency, today we made a good game, but sometimes we made a better game, and we didn’t win and I hope that now it’s the starter for us to keep confidence and we continue on this way,” Da Cruz told SuperSport TV.

The coach will now shift focus to preparing for the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon at FNB Stadium.

“We’re having confidence in our model game but not in the efficiency and I hope we get ready and since this evening, we’re going to recover and we will prepare the game for this Saturday,” Da Cruz said.

This was the Amakhosi’s first win cup victory over the Rockets, who famously pipped them to the 2019 Nedbank Cup.
