A motorist has been arrested after National Traffic Police (NTP) officers discovered that a Toyota LDV was deliberately operating without visible registration number plates.

The driver initially claimed the plates had been stolen. However, during a search of the vehicle, officers found both number plates hidden inside the car.

The suspect was arrested for failing to display registration plates and for defeating the ends of justice. He was detained at Musina SAPS and is expected to face charges.

Acting Director Aphane commended the officers for their vigilance, noting that vehicles without plates are often linked to criminal activity and reckless driving, making enforcement crucial for road safety and crime prevention. #TzaneenVoice
