Why Moloto Was Missing From The Bench
The Siya crew can confirm that Willy Moloto has been booked off for medical reasons
Soccer Laduma has established the reasons behind the absence of Polokwane City head coach Willy Moloto over the weekend.
Moloto was not on the bench when Polokwane City lost on penalties to Siwelele at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Rise and Shine were guided by assistant coach Mkhuseli Sentane during the Carling Knockout Last 16 clash. He had also handled media interviews ahead of the match.
According to a source at the club, Moloto went for a medical examination on 21 and 22 October, resulting in him being booked off.

“The coach is on sick leave for 10 days (from 21 October to 31 October),” revealed the source.
“There are obviously rumours that he resigned, but that’s just fake news. He’s still the head coach, until the club says otherwise.”
This publication reached out to Moloto for his perspective, but the coach declined to comment, citing privacy.
After the defeat to Siwelele, Sentane informed the media that Moloto’s doctor had indeed instructed him to rest.

“We are taking precautionary measures when it comes to his health,” said Sentane.
“The doctor said he should just relax a little bit so that he can fully recover. We will wait for the doctor’s orders when he would come back… I won’t say we miss him because his spirit is always with us and always communicating with us.”
Last month, Moloto spent a week in a private hospital in Polokwane after he collapsed during a league clash against AmaZulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, just before the FIFA international break.
Since the break, Polokwane City has faced Siwelele on two occasions.
