Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has called for the Zimbabwean government to be billed for the costs associated with the influx of Zimbabwean nationals into South Africa.

The EFF leader, who was addressing a rally in the North West, argued that the South African government is bearing the financial burden of providing services to foreign nationals, particularly those from Zimbabwe, and that this should be recovered from their home country.

Malema’s comments come amidst ongoing debates regarding immigration, service delivery, and the strain on South Africa’s public resources. He emphasized that the resources intended for South African citizens are being stretched thin due to the high number of undocumented migrants and the lack of effective border control.

The EFF has consistently taken a hardline stance on issues of national sovereignty and the protection of local resources, often calling for stricter enforcement of immigration laws and the prioritization of South African citizens in the economy and public services.
