With FIFA’s player registration shackles off, TS Galaxy have wasted no time in reinforcing their squad, bringing on board former Orlando Pirates youngster Dimpho Madalane.
The 23-year-old, who hails from Mhluzi in Middelburg, had been a free agent after being released by Pirates in the middle of last season.
Nicknamed ‘Khalabemgeza’, Madalane gained prominence after being scouted during the 2024 Pirates Under-21 Cup, where he was voted Player of the Tournament. Shortly after signing, he was included in the Soweto giants’ pre-season tour of Spain, where he made his unofficial debut against Sevilla.
Madalane was seen as the next Happy Jele, with both players hailing from the same township in Mpumalanga. However, he was released by the Buccaneers following a stint with the club’s ABC Motsepe League feeder team, Pele Pele FC, under Joseph ‘Duku-Duku’ Makhanya.
After his release from Pirates, the midfielder ended up at his hometown team Middelburg United in the ABC Motsepe League. When TS Galaxy came calling, Madalane was on the verge of undergoing assessments at Gomora United, Casric Stars and Kruger United — but the Rockets moved quickly to secure his signature.
Middelburg United manager Lucas ‘Makhokhoba’ Sebona confirmed that the player has now signed in the elite division.
“Yes, it’s true, the boy is signing with TS Galaxy. I sent them his clearance yesterday [Thursday],” Sebona told KickOff.
For Madalane, the move represents a second chance at PSL football — and an opportunity to prove that the promise he showed at youth level can translate to the senior stage.
