Sundowns Goalkeeper Completes Move

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Jody February has completed a move away from the club for a season, agent Mike Makaab has confirmed to Soccer Laduma.
Following the return of Ricardo Goss to Sundowns from Siwelele FC, it became evident that February’s chances of getting game time have decreased, so the next best thing was for the former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper to make a move.
A move to Siwelele FC has been secured for him and he could be available for selection when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in their next Betway Premiership match on September 5.
The 30-year-old did not make a single appearance for Sundowns last season and will be determined to get into the starting line-up regularly to get a taste of the action he has been missing.
“The deal is done, the loan agreement has been finalised. It’s a good move for him. He needs to play. Again, it’s not going to be easy for him because he’s not had a lot of game time, but he’s got a very good temperament. I don’t know if you remember when Manqoba (Mngqithi) gave him a couple of games he did well. For a goalkeeper who had not played, he did very well,” Makaab said to Soccer Laduma.
“We’ve just got to hope that he puts his best foot forward. It may take a little bit of time for him to get to his peak, but he’s mature.”
Another player who looks set to leave Sundowns in the next few weeks is winger Kobamelo Kodisang, who is currently not training with the first team.
Soccer Laduma reported that options outside the country will be considered for the former Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits, especially with little interest coming his way from Betway Premiership clubs.
