President Cyril Ramaphosa orders urgent probe as six women are found dead in Ekurhuleni

President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered police to leave no stone unturned in the investigation into the deaths of at least six women whose bodies have been discovered in and around Kempton Park in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Gender-based violence is not only a problem for women, but it’s also a national crisis.

The President’s directive comes as authorities face mounting pressure to address a string of gruesome discoveries that have sparked fears of a serial killer operating in the region. Police have assembled a multidisciplinary team to determine if the cases are linked, as the death toll continues to rise across the metro.

Government officials have pledged to deploy additional resources, technology, and law enforcement personnel to the area to bolster safety and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to process crime scenes and follow up on leads related to the victims.
