Off-Duty SAPS Sergeant Gunned Down in Khayelitsha:
A 47-year-old off-duty SAPS sergeant attached to Nyanga was shot and killed in Town Two, Khayelitsha, Cape Town, this afternoon while visiting a relative.
According to police, two armed suspects entered the residence at about 14:55, opened fire on the officer, and fled the scene in a vehicle.
A murder case has been opened at Lingelethu West SAPS, with the motive for the killing still under investigation.
Detectives from the Hawks’ Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation have taken over the probe.
Western Cape SAPS management has conveyed its condolences to the slain officer’s family, friends, and colleagues.
