Orlando Pirates defender Lebone Seema has spoken on his Man of the Match display during the Buccaneers’ win over Chippa United on Sunday, including getting his name on the scoresheet.
The right-footer lauded his teammates’ unified approach following their dominant 3-0 victory over Chippa United at Kings Park Stadium.
The reigning Betway Premiership Defender of the Season delivered a flawless Man of the Match performance, capping off a masterclass at the back by scoring a decisive second-half header.

Speaking to the media post-match, the centre-back was quick to share the spotlight, hailing his teammates on a seamless execution of their game plan
“We came to the game with one ambition, which was to win. We carried on playing like we used to play, we did what we prepared in training, and we came to the match and got three goals, then we won,” Seema said.
Sunday’s emphatic result successfully propelled the Buccaneers to the summit of the Betway Premiership log table, a feat heavily aided by the vocal travelling support. Seema expressed immense gratitude to the Ghost for turning up in droves to inspire the side.
“We thank our supporters for coming in numbers to the stadium; it’s something that we appreciate and always beg for,” the defender added.
“They came in numbers, chanting my name and also chanting teammates’ names. It’s something that gives us the confidence and spirit to keep on pushing.”
The Buccaneers will now shift their focus to knockout football as they prepare for a highly anticipated cup fixture.
Orlando Pirates will face Sekhukhune United in the MTN8 semi-final first leg on Saturday. The encounter is scheduled for a 15:00 kick-off at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
