Ouaddou: We Have Chosen To Keep Trust In Him

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has stood firm in his decision to continue playing Yanela Mbuthuma, despite the pressure currently on the striker.
Mbuthuma has come under fire from supporters recently over his dry spell in front of goal, with some missed opportunities for the Buccaneers in the box.
Ouaddou, however, has kept on playing the former Richards Bay striker and a choice, within the techical team, has been made to keep on believing in the striker.

The 24-year-old striker has made four appearances in all competitions this season and is waiting for his first goal of the campaign.
With Ouaddou continuing to show confidence in him, it’s probably only a matter of time before the striker rattles the back of the net.

“There are two schools of thought. When you analysis the game as a technical and not like a fan…I don’t say that the fan cannot read the game, but there is a difference between the vision from outside and the vision we can get from the pitch and to have a player all the week and seeing what he can do in training and in the games,” Ouaddou told media on Thursday.
Ouaddou said Mbuthuma understands how the team wants to play and that he is creating opportunities for the team through his work rate.
“The amount of work he is doing without the ball. Now we cannot take out the good things he is doing. They are important for our team. There are two thoughts. I could take out the boy and put him on the side, and you bring him in. Maybe he can have some confidence, but on the other side, nobody can predict. Maybe you can kill his confidence. We have chosen, not only me, to keep trust in him, to give him chance.”
Pirates, meanwhile, continue to wait for new striker Sebastien Pedersen to be available. Ouaddou confirmed that they are working on the fitness of the striker.
