OFFICIAL: Pirates’ young stars headed to Europe

The PSL has confirmed that DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) winners Orlando Pirates’ officially headed to Europe.
The young Buccaneers sensationally clinched their historic first-ever DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) title by defeating closest rivals Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 on the final day of the season, breaking the league record with an impressive 75 points.

Throughout their flawless campaign, defensive anchors like Christian Derbyshire and Moses Mphekgoane emerged as absolute standout performers for the Soweto giants.
Broadcast sponsors MultiChoice have officially locked in the elite European fixtures scheduled for this nine-day Winners Tour.
The reserve team will kick off their overseas assignments against SBV Vitesse Arnhem on 18 August 2026. This opening fixture will be followed by a tough encounter against De Graafschap on 20 August 2026.
The young Buccaneers will then wrap up their tour on 22 August 2026, participating in a highly competitive mini-tournament against Dutch outfit Sparta Rotterdam and Japan’s Yamanashi Gakuin.
However, the touring squad will wear a notably fresh look following a massive shake-up within the club’s development ranks over the winter break.

Several instrumental pillars from last season’s championship run have already transitioned into the first-team structures, with the highly-rated Mpho Padime leading the promotions into the senior setup.
Conversely, the squad has also suffered notable personnel departures ahead of the European trip, with impressive winger Seth Green among the prominent young names who have officially parted ways with the Sea Robbers.
Green has since joined Durban City while Jabulani Mokone has joined Midlands Wanderes on loan.
