Ngizwe Mchunu confirms Bhinca festival cancellation, claims EFF clash
Media personality Ngizwe Mchunu has officially confirmed the cancellation of his highly anticipated Bhinca festival following a violent confrontation with Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters in Inanda.
The incident, which occurred while Mchunu was inspecting the venue, escalated into a tense standoff. Mchunu alleged that his security team was forced to discharge an AK-47 into the air after identifying firearms among the opposing group.
We followed all the protocols with the councillor Mfeka. We are here, and they told us the stadium is available because it is not going to be used by anyone else.
Despite the initial insistence that the event would proceed, the security concerns and the proximity to the EFF’s provincial manifesto launch at the nearby JL Dube Stadium ultimately led to the decision to call off the festival to prevent further escalation.
