Siyanda Ndlovu returns home this weekend seeking to end a cup dream for the club which gave him prominence in the local game.
Ndlovu traded Golden Arrows for Mamelodi Sundowns, shifting from one shade of yellow to another. Now, his main goal is to win the MTN8 — a tournament whose logo features the exact same yellow both clubs share.
Sundowns meet Arrows in the second leg MTN8 semi-final at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday, eager to turn things around after losing the first leg clash 1-0 to the KZN side at Lucas Moripe Stadium last weekend.
Ndlovu started the first leg clash and was not as effective, but he has made a promise to Sundowns supporters that they will dig deep to get the required result to progress to the final.

“It’s a big game that won’t be easy. What I can promise the fans is that we will fight with everything we have. We should score goals and that will make us prevail. I think they (Golden Arrows) will come with the same strategy that we played, so we will be able to plan for that strategy. We ask the supporters to come in their numbers and we promise that we will work hard to win the game,” Ndlovu told the Sundowns media department.
After the disappointing performance in the first leg, Sundowns are expected to make changes to their starting line-up, with Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena set to return.
Brayan Leon started the first leg on the bench and, after scoring a cracking goal against AmaZulu on Wednesday, the Colombian is expected to be included in the starting line-up.
The Tshwane giants are determined to reach their first MTN8 final since 2023.
