Maseko picks out Copenhagen moment he won’t forget

Bafana Bafana star Thapelo Maseko has reflected on his impressive start to life at FC Copenhagen, opening up about one of his early goals for the Danish giants.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger wasted little time making his mark after joining Copenhagen last month.

Maseko has already scored two goals and registered an assist for his new club, with his performances quickly catching the attention of supporters.

One goal, in particular, has already made a strong impression on the 22-year-old.

Maseko has described his first goal in his brace during Copenhagen’s 5-0 win over Odense Boldklub as one of the best of his career.

“It’s special for me and it will always be in my memories for the time I’ll be at the club.”

Asked what it meant to leave such a strong impression in his first start for Copenhagen, Maseko said: “For me, it’s motivation, that I can keep going.

“It’s possible for me to adjust to a new country, first time in Europe and keep going and show my qualities.

“But, honestly, with the help of the coaches and the players, the staff around me, it’s been very easy for me to gel with the team and to adjust very quickly. So, I’m very happy for that.”

Having made the move from South Africa to Denmark, Maseko appears to be enjoying his new surroundings and adapting quickly to European football.
