Kenny Kunene claims Julius Malema had close ties with notorious taxi boss Mswazi and KT Molefe

Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene has levelled serious allegations against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, claiming that the latter maintained close ties with the late notorious taxi boss Jotham “Mswazi” Msibi and businessman KT Molefe.

He is being sued for saying I am at the centre of a cartel, implying that I am part of the ‘Big Five’ drug cartel.

The allegations have surfaced amidst a broader legal battle between the two political figures. Malema has initiated a R1 million defamation lawsuit against Kunene, vehemently denying the claims of his involvement in the so-called “Big Five” cartel and his alleged midnight visits to Msibi’s farm to deliver cash and whisky.

Kunene’s legal team has argued that these associations are a matter of public record, pointing to Malema’s attendance and speech at Msibi’s funeral as evidence of a significant relationship. Malema, however, has dismissed these assertions as “nonsense” and maintains that the allegations have severely damaged his reputation.

The dispute has become a focal point of political discourse, with Malema asserting that no EFF leader has been implicated by credible evidence before the Madlanga Commission, despite the ongoing public scrutiny regarding his alleged connections to figures linked to the taxi industry and organized crime.
