Kadodia reveals stance on Sanger amid Downs, Pirates interest

Durban City Chairman Farook Kadodia has opened up on reports that Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are interested in midfielder Tylo Sanger.
Sanger, who joined City from Cape Town Spurs ahead of the current season, has reportedly caught the interest of Sundowns and Pirates.There is strong speculation that The Brazilians in particular are upping the ante to beef up their midfield, particularly following the passing of Jayden Adams, which has left a big hole in their squad.
The 22-year-old is one of the leading players with the most Betway Premiership Man of the Match awards this campaign, after he bagged two accolades, one each against Richards Bay and Kruger United.
Speaking to KickOff, Kadodia says Sanger or any other player is not for sale, specifically for this season, as they are building a team under new head coach Khalil Ben Youssef.
“He’s (Sanger) not for sale, there are no offers or approaches, just media speculation,” Kadodia said.
“(However) there has been enquiries for quite a few players but we can’t break the team before we finish a season, we have to complete the season before we entertain anybody’s interest in players.”
“Unless something drastic allows us to change our minds but we don’t have any plans to just disturb the team you know.”
Kadodia also welcomed the selection of midfielder Brooklyn Poggenpoel in the first Bafana Bafana preliminary squad announced by returning head coach Pitso Mosimane last week.
“He (Poggenpoel) has always been knocking on the door, he has been working very hard and we wish him all the best that he remains in the structure of Bafana,” The Citizens boss added.
Durban City are competing for the first time in the CAF competitions and currently hold a 1-0 first-leg home win over Rukinzo in the Confederation Cup, ahead of the second-leg on Sunday in Burundi.
