High fire danger conditions are expected over the North West, central and eastern Northern Cape, most parts of the Free State and Limpopo, and in places in western KwaZulu-Natal and western parts of the Northern Cape.

Partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions are expected over the interior of the country, with isolated showers and thundershowers expected in the central and eastern parts.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned that the fire danger conditions are due to the combination of dry, hot and windy conditions.

Residents are urged to take the necessary precautions and to avoid open fires.

The weather service also advised that the isolated thunderstorms could be accompanied by strong winds and hail in some areas.
