Finance minister Enoch Godongwana delivered the much-anticipated medium-term budget policy statement (MTBPS) speech on Wednesday, in which he outlined the National Treasury’s plan to ensure fiscal discipline across government departments.
Godongwana also said he will not hesitate to withhold funds again from municipalities that continue to misuse public money or breach their commitments.
The finance minister responded to the cost of living crisis by allocating R10bn for temporary fuel levy relief.
