Hill-Lewis says DA aiming for outright majority in Cape Town
Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Leader and Cape Town mayoral candidate Geordin Hill-Lewis says the party is aiming to retain its outright majority in the City of Cape Town in the upcoming local government elections.
Hill-Lewis was responding to a recent Ipsos survey that suggested a decline in support for the DA in the metro.
The survey found the party’s support standing at 46%, down from more than 60% in the previous local government elections.
However, Hill-Lewis is upbeat about the DA’s success with no coalition government.
The intention is to win with the outright majority. But the polls are close.
