HIJACKING SUSPECT KILLED, ANOTHER ARRESTED IN KZN:
A joint operation involving Magma Security and Investigations, Netstar, PMB Highway Patrol, PMB K9 and Howick SAPS led to the recovery of a hijacked Toyota Hilux and the arrest of one suspect, while another was fatally wounded.
The victims were hijacked in Ixopo on Thursday and held hostage near Comrie Dam in Donnybrook while suspects allegedly attempted to access their bank accounts.
The Hilux was tracked by Netstar to the Bulwer area on Friday. Magma members spotted and followed it towards Howick. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, a suspect allegedly opened fire. Members returned fire, fatally wounding him, and recovered a firearm.
A second vehicle linked to the hijacking was pursued and stopped by PMB Highway Patrol and Magma members.
The suspect was arrested and handed over to Howick SAPS for further investigation.
