Herman Mashaba Goes all guns blazing on undocumented foreigners
Mazwi Kubheka, 27, had been missing for a month when he was found alive yesterday. Gauteng police confirmed that Kubheka presented himself at the Vosloorus Police Station on Saturday afternoon.
The family of Mazwi Kubheka remained at an Ekurhuleni hospital until late Saturday night, accompanied by community members and several political leaders.
His sister, Nomhle Kubheka, says the family is monitoring him closely as he begins a difficult recovery process.
“He is bad. He is shaking like a leaf, he is jumpy, he cries, he screams, he is angry,” she said.
While the investigation is ongoing, Herman Mashaba claims that authorities have already identified a potential motive linked to illegal immigration.
“What I can confirm is that we’ve got illegal, undocumented foreign nationals behind this mess that we’ve gone through these past couple of days,” Mashaba stated.
However, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has maintained a more cautious stance, stating that the official motive behind the incident remains under investigation.
